Urbanist

The Reflective Urbanist is a Podcast and Print Essay program for everyone engaged in the important work of improving our cities and communities.  Shifting back and forth between theory and practice, the Reflective Urbanist offers new frameworks through which to understand why things happen the way they do in the city. Each program offers a story, a theory, and a lesson that, together, illuminate one aspect of how things really work, with the goal of helping us all become more effective in our shared city-building efforts.  You can listen to The Reflective Urbanist wherever you get your podcasts, and if you would rather read, you can receive the print version of each program on this website or by subscribing HERE.

Peter Brown is your guide to reflective urbanism.

An architect, planner, consultant developer, author, teacher, and life-long city-dweller, Peter has spent his career spanning between theory and practice and has never tired of asking, “why?”
